This module updates the research and thinking on the Dreyfus Model of Skill Acquisition by the originators themselves.
This module can help the teacher recognize the challenges and strategies of working with Novice, Advanced Beginner, and Competent Nurses at their level of practice – filling in the necessary gaps in their understanding through artful questioning and responding to the actual clinical situation as the Proficient or Expert Nurse would do. The student then begins to understand their own level of clinical skill and what they need to learn to progress.
